Empath Health highlighted its network of 12 non-profit resale stores in Florida, with a 13th planned, using the National Volunteer Month campaign to showcase how volunteering provides structure and social connection, particularly for bereaved individuals. These volunteer-driven resale locations are positioned as low-cost channels for community outreach, incremental funding, and brand-building in local markets.

The emphasis on recurring volunteer engagement and store expansion suggests a strategy of deepening community integration while supporting ancillary revenue streams for Empath’s hospice and palliative programs. For mPATH Health, alignment with a partner leveraging scalable, mission-driven infrastructure may enhance the relevance of its solutions in value-based and community-centered care models.

In a separate update, mPATH Health reported that Empath Health has completed the integration of Trustbridge, creating Florida’s largest non-profit hospice network under the Empath Trustbridge Hospice name. The combined entity connects 1,400 colleagues, 565 volunteers, and serves roughly 11,000 patients and families annually, covering about one in five hospice patients in the state.

This consolidation is framed as expanding access to specialized dementia care, grief services, and broader “Full Life Care” offerings in Palm Beach and Broward counties. Scale advantages, a larger referral base, and stronger brand recognition could support operational efficiencies, more stable patient volumes, and potentially better bargaining power with payers and partners.

mPATH Health also underscored talent acquisition and culture, spotlighting a newly hired hospice social worker at Tidewell Hospice and using the end of Social Work Month to promote recruitment across the Empath network. The company emphasized the emotional complexity of end-of-life care and the importance of social workers in supporting patients and families.

Additionally, mPATH highlighted veteran-focused programming through Tidewell Honors, featuring Vietnam veteran Sergeant Mike Murphy’s pinning ceremonies that recognize patients’ military service. These activities reinforce a focus on veteran-centered, values-based care that could strengthen relationships with veteran communities and referral sources.

Taken together, the week’s communication portrays a network investing in volunteers, specialized programs, and integration scale, with potential indirect benefits for mPATH Health as a technology and engagement partner. The overall week reflected steady strategic progress in community reach, workforce strength, and market positioning within Florida’s hospice and palliative care landscape.
