MoonPay has received the 2026 Chainalysis Innovation Award, reinforcing its strategy of using compliance as a core differentiator for its global crypto payments network. Chief Legal and Administrative Officer Caroline D. Pham said the recognition affirms MoonPay’s aim to operate with the rigor of a regulated financial institution while maintaining technology-company speed, positioning the firm as trusted infrastructure for institutional entrants to digital assets.
The company now holds money transmitter licenses across the U.S., a New York BitLicense, a Limited Purpose Trust Charter, and was among the first crypto firms approved under the EU’s MiCA regime via the Dutch AFM, alongside registration with the U.K. FCA and other regulators. MoonPay embeds compliance into product design and leverages deep integrations with Chainalysis for real-time monitoring, sanctions screening, and financial crime detection, which Global Chief Compliance Officer Thom Hook says supports partners’ global scaling and regulatory needs while MoonPay continues expanding licenses, regulatory engagement, and compliance talent to capture the next wave of institutional crypto adoption.
