MoonPay has acquired artificial intelligence research firm Dawn Labs and launched Dawn CLI, an AI-native trading tool that turns plain-English strategy descriptions into executable code, backtests them, and can run trades autonomously across supported venues. The deal advances MoonPay’s plan to build AI-native financial infrastructure, moving it beyond crypto on-ramps into end-to-end, agent-driven trading and market access.
Dawn Labs founder Neeraj Prasad, who has experience at Waymo, Microsoft, Citadel and Reservoir Labs and an ML background from MIT, will become Chief Engineer of MoonPay Labs, integrating Dawn’s capabilities into MoonPay’s broader platform. The acquisition follows MoonPay’s recent rollout of MoonPay CLI, MoonPay Agents with hardware-secured signing, MoonAgents Card for onchain stablecoin spending via Mastercard, and the Open Wallet Standard, positioning MoonPay to serve AI agents and active traders with a unified stack that spans research, strategy design, execution and payments.
