Moment, an AI-native operating system for investment management, has raised $78 million in a Series C round led by Index Ventures, less than a year after closing a $36 million Series B from the same lead investor. The new capital lifts total funding to $134 million and will support scaling an architecture that Index’s Jan Hammer says is becoming core to how major wealth managers plan their next decade of AI-enabled operations.
The company’s platform now underpins investment management for firms overseeing more than $10 trillion in client assets, a sharp increase from about $300 billion 18 months ago, as large financial institutions accelerate AI deployment roadmaps. Key clients include Edward Jones, LPL Financial, and Hightower Advisors, which are using Moment to automate proposal generation, portfolio optimization, and managed-account workflows in a regulated environment.
Moment positions itself as a full-stack operating system replacing the traditional patchwork of point solutions for fixed income, rebalancing, unified managed accounts, direct indexing, reporting, and reconciliation, consolidating these into a single platform where AI agents can operate end-to-end. The system unifies trading, portfolio management, and compliance across asset classes and currencies, underpinned by a unified data model and controls designed to meet regulatory standards.
Edward Jones reports using Moment’s AI-driven workflows and portfolio optimizer to generate highly tailored client proposals in seconds, aiming to replace manual processes and expand advisor capacity over time. Hightower is building its Hightower One platform on Moment to drive a more integrated managed-account experience spanning portfolio management, tax optimization, and tax transition for both equities and fixed income.
CEO and co-founder Dylan Parker emphasizes that large institutions have been constrained by a lack of safe, scalable infrastructure for AI agents, a gap Moment aims to fill with modular capabilities that can be rolled out progressively as governance frameworks mature. Based in New York and founded by former Citadel Securities quants and traders, Moment is targeting further penetration among global wealth firms and fintechs, positioning its operating system as foundational infrastructure for the AI era of investment management.
