MetalBear, the company behind the open source Kubernetes development tool mirrord, is expanding into Australia with new operations in Melbourne and Sydney as enterprise demand in the region accelerates. The move includes hiring local staff and appointing Francis Wilson-Roberts as APAC Lead, alongside Dan Baker as APAC GTM Lead and APAC Solutions Engineering Lead, to drive go-to-market execution and technical adoption among large organizations.
By establishing an on-the-ground presence, MetalBear aims to build closer relationships with Australian enterprises running complex, production-grade Kubernetes environments and to support developer communities through deeper engagement in local engineering events. The company expects mirrord to help APAC customers reduce integration bottlenecks, test code against real services more efficiently, and speed up cloud-native software delivery, positioning MetalBear for further regional growth as Kubernetes usage scales across financial services, fintech, and other enterprise sectors.
