Mach Industries has strengthened its leadership bench by appointing Anand Gopalan as Chief Autonomy and Systems Officer, putting advanced autonomy and AI at the core of its unmanned defense systems strategy. Gopalan will oversee autonomy, avionics, guidance, navigation and control, and advanced AI units, directing system architecture, sensor fusion, and mission-critical AI tailored for contested and denied operational environments.

The hire signals Mach’s intent to accelerate development of next-generation unmanned platforms by integrating hardware and software across weapons, propulsion, and manufacturing in a vertically aligned model. Drawing on more than two decades in semiconductors, sensing, AI, and robotics—including CEO roles at Velodyne Lidar and Vayu Robotics—Gopalan is expected to sharpen Mach’s ability to deliver resilient, scalable systems for national security use cases, reinforcing its position as a young but strategically ambitious defense manufacturer founded in 2023 and based in Huntington Beach, California.
