Lumonus has entered a strategic collaboration with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to integrate and co-develop MSK’s ECHO mathematical optimization engine within the Lumonus AI platform for radiation oncology. Under the agreement, Lumonus will license ECHO and co-invest in joint research aimed at advancing automated radiation therapy treatment planning, positioning the company to deliver more robust, scalable automation for clinical workflows.

Lumonus executives describe the deal as a critical step toward overcoming the historical barrier to broad adoption of automated planning, namely the difficulty of reliably generating patient-specific plans that meet complex clinical constraints and physician intent. By combining ECHO—refined over nearly a decade of clinical use and supported by extensive peer-reviewed evidence—with Lumonus’s AI-native workflow tools, the company aims to improve plan quality, consistency, and efficiency while enabling routine, scaled deployment across U.S., Australian, and European markets. This collaboration is expected to enhance Lumonus’s competitive differentiation in oncology software, deepen its clinical validation, and support longer-term commercial growth as cancer centers seek more efficient, automated treatment planning solutions.
