LightPath Technologies reported fiscal Q2 2026 revenue of $16.4 million, up 120% year over year, with gross profit rising 212% to $6.0 million and gross margin improving to 37% as higher-margin assemblies and modules expanded 741% to $7.2 million. Despite this, the company posted a net loss of $9.4 million, largely driven by a $7.6 million non-cash increase in G5 acquisition earnout liabilities, while adjusted EBITDA turned positive at $0.6 million versus a $1.3 million loss a year earlier.
The company fortified its balance sheet with a $60 million public equity raise in December, lifting cash to $73.6 million at December 31 and supporting working capital, acquisitions, and scaling of U.S.-compliant optics production under tightening NDAA rules. Strategic moves included the AMI asset acquisition to add large-diameter chalcogenide glass capacity and a second BlackDiamond manufacturing site, major IR camera orders totaling $14.4 million from defense and public-safety customers, and leadership additions in manufacturing and defense oversight, positioning LightPath as a vertically integrated, NDAA-aligned supplier as it shifts away from germanium optics and leverages a record $97.8 million backlog to drive future growth.
