Kindred has launched a free online matchmaking platform that turns friends and family into digital matchmakers, positioning the company as an alternative to swipe-based dating apps in key U.S. urban markets. Founded and led by CEO Jennifer Wlach, the company is targeting singles who want more intentional, relationship-focused dating by leveraging existing social networks rather than anonymous profiles.
The platform offers two account types: “Daters,” who create profiles and invite trusted contacts to act as matchmakers, and “Validators,” who use their own networks, social media, and email to identify and introduce vetted connections. Kindred differentiates its model with no swiping, no paywalls, and no paid boosts or “super-likes,” while also hosting in-person matchmaking events in New York City, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco to drive engagement and brand visibility among urban professionals.
