Keycard has introduced Keycard for Coding Agents, an extension of its identity and access platform designed to let enterprises deploy autonomous coding agents at scale while maintaining tight security and governance. The product sits as a centralized control plane across major coding agents from OpenAI, Anthropic, Cursor and leading open source tools, standardizing configuration, permissions and oversight so security and platform teams can enable autonomous workflows without defaulting to manual approvals.
The new offering enforces runtime policies on every tool call, credential request and action based on the identity of the agent, the end user and the specific task, ensuring agents can only access authorized systems within a defined operating context. By integrating directly into agent hook systems and leveraging Keycard SDKs, the product provides telemetry, conditional human-in-the-loop escalation and extensibility to custom agents and harnesses, addressing the operational complexity and risk explosion associated with multiple autonomous agents acting without human supervision across production repositories.
