IQM Expands European Quantum Footprint With Euro-Q-Exa Deployment in Germany

According to a recent LinkedIn post from IQM Quantum Computers, the Euro-Q-Exa quantum computer based on IQM’s Radiance platform is now operational at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre in Garching, Germany. The system reportedly features 54 superconducting qubits, with a second, more powerful 150-qubit system planned for delivery by the end of 2026.

The post highlights that this is the first EuroHPC Joint Undertaking quantum computer for Germany and positions it as part of Europe’s broader sovereign digital and high-performance computing infrastructure. Attendance by senior European and German policymakers at the inauguration suggests strong public-sector backing, which could support continued funding and deployment opportunities for IQM in Europe.

IQM’s post also claims it has sold more quantum computers over the last five years than any other company, underscoring its competitive positioning in the emerging quantum hardware market. If accurate, this track record, combined with integration into established HPC centers, may enhance IQM’s credibility with research institutions and industrial users and could translate into a growing pipeline of hybrid quantum–HPC application projects.

For investors monitoring the quantum computing ecosystem, the deployment at LRZ and the roadmap toward a 150-qubit system indicate progressive scaling of IQM’s technology in a strategically important region. As European initiatives around technological sovereignty and advanced computing expand, IQM’s involvement in EuroHPC-linked infrastructure may provide a platform for further commercial contracts, ecosystem partnerships, and potential long-term revenue visibility.
