IO River has secured a $20 million Series A round to accelerate the rollout of its multi-edge platform, positioning the company as a key disruptor of the traditional content delivery network (CDN) market. Led by Venture Guides and New Era, with participation from S Capital and private investors including Ofir Ehrlich and Pavel Gurvich, the funding will support IO River’s strategy to decouple edge infrastructure from higher-value services such as security, traffic management, and application logic. CEO and co-founder Edward Tsinovoi said the company’s architecture enables enterprises to leverage multiple delivery networks without the operational overhead that previously limited multi-edge adoption to only the largest internet players. IO River currently manages more than 200 petabytes of traffic per month, demonstrating scalability and market traction among global brands in streaming, gaming, retail, and SaaS.

IO River’s platform introduces a neutral virtual control layer across multiple edge providers, centralizing configuration management, AI-based traffic steering, and observability to deliver low-latency, highly resilient services while reducing dependence on any single CDN or cloud provider. This approach directly addresses recent high-profile outages at major cloud and edge providers and aligns with a broader shift toward distributed, multi-edge architectures that companies like Sky, Amazon, and PayPal have been building internally at high cost. By opening the edge ecosystem to local, regional, and telecom-based networks, IO River also creates a more diverse supplier landscape and enables security and application vendors to offer consistent capabilities across providers, including access to emerging AI-based edge services from platforms such as Cloudflare and Akamai. Backers including Venture Guides’ Sage Nye and New Era’s Gideon Argov frame IO River as an enabler of the next wave of internet infrastructure—decentralized, intelligent, and open—giving enterprises a commercially available path to resilient, multi-edge operations without assembling large in-house engineering teams.
