insightsoftware, a leading provider of solutions for the Office of the CFO, has unveiled a report titled ‘The AI Confidence Crisis in Corporate Finance,’ which sheds light on the challenges finance professionals face in adopting artificial intelligence (AI). The report reveals that while 58% of finance professionals consider AI crucial to their roles, only 39% feel confident in using the technology. This gap is attributed to barriers such as trust issues, inadequate training, and insufficient resources. Notably, 17% of finance professionals cite limited time or resources as significant obstacles to AI adoption, while 21% express concerns about data accuracy and privacy. Larger organizations, particularly those with over 10,000 employees, encounter complex change management challenges, with 18% of finance professionals in these firms not utilizing advanced AI tools at all.

Josh Schauer, CFO at insightsoftware, emphasizes that the true value of AI extends beyond automation, highlighting its potential to empower finance teams to focus on strategic tasks. By leveraging AI to unlock insights and save time, organizations can drive innovation, enhance decision-making, and improve business performance. The report provides actionable steps for finance leaders to bridge the AI confidence gap, suggesting that organizations committed to AI adoption can achieve a 57% improvement in forecasting accuracy and a 42% reduction in manual reporting. The findings are based on insightsoftware’s 2025 Office of the CFO Survey, which collected data from 439 finance professionals across organizations with more than 500 employees. This report underscores the importance of building trust in AI to accelerate its adoption and realize measurable performance gains.
