Honest Health has secured $140 million in new capital to scale its value-based care enablement platform for health systems, in a round led by NewSpring Healthcare with participation from K2 HealthVentures and existing institutional backers. The company plans to use the proceeds to enter new markets, deepen partnerships with health systems, provider groups, and payers, and strengthen its technology-enabled care coordination, quality improvement, and analytics capabilities.
NewSpring Healthcare, whose partner Mike Kaplan joins Honest Health’s board, will provide sector-focused operating expertise as the company navigates growing demand for risk-based contracts and increasingly complex value-based models. Led by CEO Rob Bessler, M.D., a physician-entrepreneur who previously built Sound Physicians into a multibillion-dollar organization, Honest Health is positioning itself as an execution partner for providers seeking measurable improvements in outcomes and cost performance under value-based arrangements.
Founded in 2021 by Rubicon Founders’ Adam Boehler, Abe Sutton, and Matt Kim, Honest Health benefits from leadership with deep policy and operational experience, including Boehler’s former role and Sutton’s current leadership at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation. Executives and investors emphasize that health systems face mounting pressure to improve financial sustainability while delivering higher-quality care, which is driving adoption of platforms that combine clinical leadership, proven processes, and scalable infrastructure for value-based care.
Investors believe Honest Health is now positioned to broaden its national footprint and manage a wider spectrum of risk, potentially capturing a larger share of the value-based enablement market. Leerink Partners advised Honest Health on the transaction, with Ropes & Gray serving as legal counsel, underscoring the institutional scale and strategic significance of this financing for the company’s next phase of growth.
