Hacktron, an AI-driven cybersecurity startup founded by elite competitive hackers Zayne Zhang, Mohan Pedhapati, and Harsh Jaiswal, has secured $2.9 million in pre-seed funding to accelerate development of its continuous security testing platform. The round, led by Crane Venture Partners with participation from several venture and strategic investors, positions Hacktron to embed attacker-style, AI-enabled security checks directly into modern software development workflows.

The company has already generated about $240,000 in revenue in its first nine months and has identified critical vulnerabilities in widely used software, including the OAuth2 Proxy project, underscoring demand for its approach among high-growth technology customers such as Perplexity AI and Supabase. Hacktron plans to deploy the new capital to expand its engineering and security research teams, speed product innovation, and scale go-to-market efforts, leveraging its founders’ DEF CON and Black Hat credentials and a large built-in audience via team member Fabian Faessler’s near-million-subscriber YouTube channel to educate the market on AI-accelerated threats and drive adoption of its platform.
