Hacktron has secured $2.9 million in pre-seed capital to accelerate development of its AI-powered platform that continuously tests every software code change for security vulnerabilities, positioning the startup to move beyond traditional, periodic penetration testing models. The round was led by Crane Venture Partners with participation from several European and U.S. investors, and will fund engineering hires, security research, product build-out, and early go-to-market expansion.
Founded by elite competitive hackers with DEF CON CTF wins and Black Hat experience, Hacktron has already generated about $240,000 in revenue in its first nine months and uncovered critical flaws in widely used infrastructure such as OAuth2 Proxy, as well as testing environments for high-growth technology companies. The company also benefits from a built-in global developer and security audience via one team member’s large YouTube following, which Hacktron plans to leverage through technical research content and vulnerability case studies to drive adoption and position its attacker-style AI platform as a key control in an environment where AI is rapidly accelerating both software development and cyberattacks.
