Grow Therapy launched a clinician-supervised AI coaching tool embedded in its app to extend support for clients between therapy sessions. The AI coach, built on evidence-based frameworks such as CBT, DBT, ACT and Behavioral Activation, has already processed more than 800,000 client messages since testing began in December 2025.
The tool is designed as an optional supplement that keeps licensed clinicians at the center of care, with multiple independent safety layers governing its use. These guardrails can pause conversations, surface crisis resources, alert providers to potential safety issues and route flagged interactions to a licensed clinical quality team, which has correctly identified 99% of potential safety concerns in reviews so far.
Clinicians gain additional visibility into what clients are working through between visits, helping close gaps created when patients use generic chatbots outside the care ecosystem. About half of active providers already have at least one client using the AI coach, and many report it is particularly useful for patients dealing with procrastination, difficulty initiating tasks or perfectionism.
To support responsible deployment at scale, Grow Therapy formed an external AI Advisory Panel that includes experts in clinical psychology, AI research, ethics, epidemiology and behavioral health market strategy. This panel advises on safety standards, product evaluation and continuous improvement as the AI coach scales across Grow’s 26,000-provider network serving roughly 220 million insurance-covered Americans.

In parallel, Grow Therapy entered a strategic partnership with Amazon to redesign the technology giant’s U.S. Employee Assistance Program for more than one million workers. Under the new model, Grow will provide no-cost care for the first six therapy sessions for eligible U.S.-based employees, then transition ongoing treatment into in-network coverage aligned with existing health plans.
The arrangement expands Grow Therapy’s presence in the employer benefits channel and showcases the scale and geographic reach of its provider network across all 50 states. Amazon employees will gain access to rapid scheduling, typically within two to three days, and the choice of virtual or in-person appointments to better match individual preferences and needs.
The partnership also incorporates Grow’s mobile app and clinically guided AI tools to support employees between sessions and streamline data sharing with providers. This integration is intended to strengthen engagement, enable more timely interventions and provide employers with a more coherent, data-informed mental health benefits solution.
