Grammarly, renowned for its English grammar and writing assistance, is broadening its horizons by introducing support for five additional languages: Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, and Italian. This strategic move allows Grammarly to offer paragraph-level rewrites for tone, style, and flow in these languages, alongside English. Additionally, users can now translate text in-line across 19 languages, a feature accessible to both free and paid subscribers. This expansion aligns with Grammarly’s commitment to meeting user demands for multilingual support, as highlighted by Ailian Gan, Director of Product Management, who emphasized the importance of catering to users’ diverse linguistic needs.

The company, which reported 40 million daily active users in May, aims to boost this figure with its latest multilingual offerings. Grammarly’s recent pilot of these tools with one million users yielded positive feedback, although specific usage statistics were not disclosed. This development is part of a broader series of innovations from Grammarly, including the introduction of new AI features and a revamped document user experience, following its acquisition of productivity startup Coda. Looking ahead, Grammarly plans to integrate multilingual support into its AI functionalities, further enhancing its value proposition for a global audience. These strategic enhancements underscore Grammarly’s dedication to expanding its market reach and improving user engagement through continuous innovation.
