GoStudent has released new Europe-wide research highlighting how heavy device use and school-related pressure are reshaping demand for tutoring and hybrid education solutions. The study of parents and teachers across five key European markets found that a majority of UK pupils aged 8 to 16 spend at least three hours a day on screens outside school, while 94% of surveyed teachers see clear performance gaps between high and low screen-time users.

Parents report significant concerns over concentration, sleep quality, and the erosion of independent thinking, with nearly three in five worried about the impact of screen time on rest and 77% observing school-related stress in their children. In this context, nearly half of pupils surveyed have already received tutoring or additional academic support, reinforcing GoStudent’s strategic focus on personalised learning, smaller group settings, and blended online/offline offerings, including its recently expanded network of European tuition centres.

Teachers in the study cited personalised instruction, frequent positive feedback, and reduced class sizes as the most effective levers to boost student motivation and confidence, directly aligning with GoStudent’s model and recent acquisitions in both digital platforms and brick-and-mortar centres. CEO and Co-Founder Felix Ohswald framed the findings as validation of GoStudent’s strategy to provide integrated support spanning home, school, and external tutoring, aiming to improve both academic outcomes and student wellbeing.

The survey, carried out by Censuswide across the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, provides data that can help inform GoStudent’s product development, market positioning, and investor narrative as it seeks to address rising parental demand that goes beyond exam scores to include mental health and resilience. Backed by more than €675 million in venture funding and serving over 10 million families a month across its portfolio brands, GoStudent is positioned to capture growing structural demand for hybrid education solutions in an environment where digital distraction, stress, and learning gaps are increasingly visible to both parents and schools.
