NexTitan is being promoted as a solution to the high drilling costs that remain one of geothermal energy’s biggest bottlenecks, with GA Drilling signaling that it aims to demonstrate “real value in the field.” The firm indicated it may share field data or pilot experience at the event, which would support its efforts to position NexTitan as a credible, commercially ready technology.
The company is also continuing field validation work at the NORCE Ullrigg Test Centre in Norway, where two NexTitan units are drilling under downhole conditions. Partners from GA Drilling and HEATLINQ visited the site to observe live performance, underscoring a focus on scalability, robustness and operational reliability ahead of broader deployment.
While detailed quantitative performance metrics and cost comparisons versus conventional drilling remain undisclosed, the dual-unit campaign marks a tangible step toward technical de-risking. This validation work is a key prerequisite for revenue-generating projects and for convincing project developers and financiers of NexTitan’s economic advantages.
Governance and leadership were strengthened with the appointment of industry veteran Sverre Skogen as Chairman of the Board, following the close of a $44.1 million investment round. Skogen’s more than three decades of oil and gas experience are expected to support GA Drilling’s governance, strategic direction and ability to scale complex energy technologies.
GA Drilling also continued to build industry visibility ahead of the Geothermal Transition Summit 2026 in Houston, where CEO Tony Branch will speak on efficient delivery of complex geothermal wells. Overall, the week reflected coordinated progress in capital deployment, leadership, field validation and market positioning, laying groundwork for potential commercialization milestones while key performance data are still pending.
