The company announced that its CTO, Nathan Bivans, has joined the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO Technical Committee 299 (Robotics). He will contribute to working groups focused on safety standards for robots with actively controlled stability, including humanoid robots (WG 12), and for industrial and service robots (WG 13). Bivans will also speak on a panel about the emerging role of AI in robotic safety at the International Robot Safety Conference.

For investors, Bivans’ participation in international standards-setting activities positions FORT Robotics closer to the regulatory and technical direction of the robotics industry, particularly in safety and AI-enabled systems. Influence in ISO safety standards can enhance the company’s credibility with industrial, commercial, and institutional customers that must comply with evolving regulations. Over time, this could support FORT’s ability to shape product requirements, reduce regulatory friction for its offerings, and create opportunities for premium, compliance-focused safety solutions. While the immediate revenue impact is likely limited, deeper involvement in global standards may strengthen FORT’s competitive positioning and its role as a specialist in robotic safety infrastructure as humanoid, industrial, and service robots see broader deployment.
