Flux Marine has appointed former Mercury Marine head of strategy Gary Lancina to its advisory board, signaling an explicit pivot from engineering-led development to scaled commercial execution. The Bristol, R.I.-based electric outboard manufacturer, which reports having delivered more high-voltage, high-horsepower electric outboards in North America than any competitor over the past 18 months, is now concentrating resources on sales, marketing, and international brand building.
CEO Ben Sorkin said the company has spent five years refining its proprietary electric propulsion systems and is now focused on turning that technical lead into market share, with Lancina expected to shape strategic partnerships, B2B growth, and global positioning. Lancina previously helped drive roughly $1 billion in revenue growth and record market share at Mercury Marine and scaled Redbox by hundreds of millions of dollars, and he believes Flux Marine is well placed to capitalize on what he calls a generational shift toward electric propulsion in boating.
