Flock Safety has engaged offensive security specialist Bishop Fox to conduct an extensive third-party cybersecurity testing campaign across all of the company’s hardware and software products, underscoring a strategic focus on risk management and trust with public-sector and enterprise customers. The initiative is designed to validate and enhance Flock’s existing security controls, which already include an annual SOC 2 Type II report covering Security and Availability, ISO 27001 certification for its information security management system, and compliance with the FBI’s CJIS Security Policy governing criminal justice data. Bishop Fox will run complex, multi-stage, multilayer adversarial exercises intended to simulate sophisticated real-world attacks, and Flock has committed to sharing the findings and resulting remediation work transparently to reinforce confidence among municipalities, law enforcement agencies, businesses, and other stakeholders that rely on its public-safety network.

Chief Information Security Officer Chris Castaldo, who joined Flock in 2025 after security leadership roles in the U.S. Army and NSA, is leading the program, signaling that security posture is a core element of the company’s operating model and go-to-market strategy rather than a compliance checkbox. For Flock’s more than 6,000 community customers, 5,000 law-enforcement agencies, and 1,000 businesses, this campaign is intended to reduce operational, reputational, and regulatory risk associated with large-scale deployment of networked cameras and analytics, at a time when scrutiny of surveillance technology and data governance is rising. By pairing formal certifications with continuous, external offensive testing, Flock is positioning its security capabilities as a competitive differentiator in the public safety technology market, potentially strengthening procurement outcomes, supporting expansion of its nationwide public-private safety network, and mitigating barriers to adoption related to privacy, data integrity, and cybersecurity concerns.
