FirstLight Fiber has secured a significant financial services customer, with First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union choosing the company to provide Internet connectivity for most of its Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania branches. The agreement positions FirstLight at the core of First Commonwealth’s digital banking and transaction infrastructure, underscoring the strategic importance of its low-latency, high-availability network for always-on member access.
In addition to branch connectivity, First Commonwealth has selected FirstLight’s Brunswick, Maine data center for colocation and disaster recovery, giving the credit union geographically separated, yet drivable, redundancy for critical systems. The SOC 2 Type 2, PCI DSS, and HIPAA-compliant facility, backed by 24/7 network operations support that the client has publicly praised, reinforces FirstLight’s data center value proposition for regulated institutions and deepens its foothold in the financial vertical across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic.
