Everyset is expanding its leadership and casting capabilities with the hiring of two senior executives from Central Casting, a move designed to accelerate adoption of its end-to-end background performer management platform among major studios. Adam Hochfeld joins as Vice President of Business Development to drive studio relationships and regional expansion, while Kristan Berona becomes Senior Casting Director to help productions transition their background casting and on-set workflows onto Everyset’s system.
These appointments come as background work in key U.S. production states such as California, Georgia, and New York has grown by nearly 34% from 2024 to 2025, increasing pressure on studios to replace fragmented, legacy processes with compliant, digital infrastructure. Everyset’s leadership describes the hires as critical to scaling a “single source of truth” approach that integrates casting, set operations, and payroll, improving union compliance, cost control, and on-set efficiency for short-term W-2 background workers.
Hochfeld brings decades of experience leading extras casting for hundreds of television and film projects and previously oversaw his former employer’s expansion into major production hubs, experience that Everyset expects to translate into faster market penetration and reduced operational waste for clients. In his new role, he will work directly with studio and production executives, producers, assistant directors, and accountants to quantify efficiency gains and ensure deployments stay within strict budget and compliance constraints.
Berona, a veteran casting director with credits on award-winning films and series, will focus on integrating Everyset’s technology with day-to-day production workflows, collaborating with filmmakers and showrunners to build and manage large background casts through the platform. Her remit is to ensure that casting directors, accountants, and producers can rely on a unified digital process that better aligns creative needs with operational requirements, reinforcing Everyset’s value as a trusted infrastructure provider rather than a point solution.
Co-founders Ebrahim Bhaiji and Rumala Sheikhani emphasize that the company is deliberately recruiting leaders who have managed background casting, payroll, and compliance at scale, viewing this domain expertise as essential to de-risking one of Hollywood’s most sensitive operational areas. They position Everyset as a SAG-AFTRA-approved, cloud-based system that helps major clients such as Netflix, Disney, Amazon, and Warner Bros. minimize payroll errors, avoid compliance violations, and reduce administrative overhead, with the broader goal of allowing productions to reallocate resources to core creative work.
