Eve Air Mobility has announced a strategic partnership with BETA Technologies to supply electric pusher motors for its eVTOL aircraft, marking a significant step in Eve’s supply chain enhancement. This collaboration is poised to support Eve’s substantial backlog of 2,800 eVTOLs, with the agreement potentially valued at up to USD $1 billion over the next decade. The decision follows a rigorous evaluation period where Eve tested and validated BETA’s motors, which are now set to power Eve’s prototypes and production models, expected to begin flight testing by late 2025 or early 2026.
Eve’s CEO, Johann Bordais, emphasized the importance of integrating BETA’s technology, highlighting its role in advancing Eve’s propulsion architecture and ensuring high performance and safety standards. This partnership aligns with Eve’s strategy of collaborating with leading aerospace innovators, complementing existing partnerships with companies like BAE Systems and Garmin. BETA’s motors, known for their efficiency and reliability, are expected to enhance the operational cost-effectiveness and sustainability of Eve’s aircraft. This move underscores Eve’s commitment to pioneering urban air mobility solutions, leveraging Embraer’s aerospace expertise to accelerate the development and commercialization of its eVTOL program.
