EV Realty has opened its flagship multi-fleet truck charging hub in San Bernardino, marking a major expansion of its Powered Properties® network and its role in heavy-duty fleet electrification. The 9 MW site features 76 high-power charging ports capable of serving more than 200 medium- and heavy-duty trucks per day, with both CCS for current fleets and MCS for next-generation big rigs, positioning the company to capture growing demand for zero-emission freight operations.
The hub is strategically located near the San Bernardino Intermodal Facility, over 60 million square feet of industrial warehousing, and key corridors including Interstates 10 and 215, in a region supporting roughly 17,000 medium- and heavy-duty trucks. EV Realty has already secured customers including J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc., Gate City Beverage, and electric carrier Nevoya, validating its shared-infrastructure model, which aims to improve fleet economics by aggregating multiple users on dedicated private charging assets.
CEO Patrick Sullivan emphasized that the Inland Empire is a critical node for freight moving from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, and that fleets need reliable, cost-effective high-power charging to move beyond pilot projects and electrify at scale. The San Bernardino site is designed around logistics operations, incorporating Kempower hardware delivering up to 1.2 MW for MCS and 500 kW for CCS, as well as Synop software that enables advanced power management, reservations, reporting, and operational insights on cost and range.
The facility offers 24/7 managed operations with on-site staff, security, parking, and amenities, providing a turnkey solution that integrates into fleet logistics rather than functioning as a consumer-style charging stop. Nevoya’s Chief Commercial Officer, John Verdon, highlighted that EV Realty’s design and business model allow carriers to optimize operations with both megawatt charging and domicile options, enhancing flexibility and utilization of electric trucks.
The hub reached commercial operation less than a year after its mid-2025 groundbreaking, enabled by available grid capacity from Southern California Edison and execution support from partners such as ParWest. Construction financing included grants from the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s Carl Moyer Program and the California Energy Commission’s EnergIIZE Commercial Vehicles Project, underscoring the alignment of EV Realty’s build-out with state decarbonization and air quality objectives.
This opening follows a broader strategic growth phase for EV Realty, including $75 million in growth equity from NGP, additional investment from truck terminal operator Outpost, and acquisitions of complementary assets that will support a scaled rollout of similar hubs. For executives and fleet operators, the San Bernardino site signals EV Realty’s transition from project development to operational scale in a key freight market, and establishes a replicable template for multi-fleet, high-power charging infrastructure across other logistics-dense regions.
