Envision Group Expands Offshore Wind Drivetrain Manufacturing Capacity in China

According to a recent LinkedIn post from Envision Group, the company has begun building what it describes as China’s first offshore high-power drivetrain manufacturing base in Sheyang. The post indicates the facility is designed for an annual capacity of 300 fully integrated offshore drivetrains for turbines above 20 MW, with completion targeted by November 2026.

The LinkedIn post suggests the new plant will be integrated with Envision’s existing offshore wind equipment base in Sheyang to enhance production efficiency and large-scale turbine delivery. It also notes the site will host a 30 MW drivetrain R&D and testing platform, intended to support full-scenario validation under extreme operating conditions.

As shared in the post, Envision continues to emphasize in-house development and integration of core turbine components, underpinned by proprietary testing capabilities and IECRE certification with TÜV Nord. The company highlights that more than 12,000 Envision gearboxes are currently in operation across 14 countries and over 620 wind farms, pointing to an existing global footprint in wind equipment.

For investors, the planned drivetrain base and testing platform may signal further vertical integration and scaling in the offshore wind supply chain, potentially improving cost control and product differentiation over time. If demand for high-capacity offshore turbines continues to grow, expanded manufacturing capacity and certified in-house technology could strengthen Envision’s competitive position in large-scale wind projects and support longer-term revenue opportunities.
