Envision Energy has executed the world’s first fully commercial end-to-end shipment of green ammonia, sending a cargo from its Chifeng, Inner Mongolia complex to South Korea’s LOTTE Fine Chemical, establishing a new benchmark for zero-carbon fuels in global trade. The shipment is produced at Envision’s Chifeng industrial park, billed as the world’s largest green hydrogen–ammonia base and operated on a 100% renewable power system that uses proprietary physical AI to balance wind and solar supply for continuous hydrogen and ammonia output.
According to Envision Energy Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer Yimin Lou, the successful voyage converts the green ammonia value chain from a conceptual model into a bankable reality, positioning the company to supply zero-carbon fuel at scale to Asian markets and beyond. The facility is already configured to deliver 320,000 tons of green ammonia annually with exports having started in Q4 2025, and Envision plans to ramp capacity to 1.5 million tons per year by 2028, which would materially expand its revenue base and support replication of similar clean industrial hubs worldwide.
The green ammonia produced at Chifeng meets stringent international sustainability and traceability requirements, including ISCC EU, ISCC PLUS, and RFNBO standards, improving its attractiveness for offtakers operating under tightening decarbonization and regulatory regimes. Envision’s integrated stack—covering wind power, AI-driven grid orchestration, hydrogen production, and ammonia synthesis—aims to reduce production costs and technical risk across the value chain, strengthening the company’s competitive position in the emerging green molecules market.
LOTTE Fine Chemical’s CEO, Seung Won Chung, framed the transaction as a historic starting point for an Asia-focused clean ammonia and hydrogen ecosystem, signaling potential for expanded volume contracts and regional infrastructure build-out. The Chifeng project was also highlighted at the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos as a flagship case in the white paper “From Blueprint to Reality: Delivering a Stronger Business Case for Energy Infrastructure,” reinforcing Envision Energy’s profile with policymakers, financiers, and industrial customers as a reference player in large-scale zero-carbon energy infrastructure.
