Envision Energy has entered Sri Lanka’s wind market with its first utility-scale turbine order, supplying ten EN-156/5.0 MW machines for the 50 MW Mannar Wind Power Project in the country’s north. The project, backed by HayWind One Limited, a Hayleys PLC subsidiary, is expected to produce about 207 million kWh of electricity a year and is scheduled for commissioning by March 2027, reinforcing Envision’s expansion strategy in South Asia.
The company is delivering a customized high anti-corrosion solution to withstand Mannar’s saline, humid coastal conditions and will provide full-lifecycle operations and maintenance services over the project’s 20-year design life, creating a recurring service revenue stream. Envision executives emphasize that Sri Lanka’s strong wind resources and central role in the regional energy transition make this project a strategic foothold, positioning the firm to capture additional demand as the country scales renewable capacity and as future projects look to replicate Mannar’s technical and economic blueprint.
