Envision Energy is deepening its position in the green ammonia value chain by joining the pilot phase of the Ammonia Energy Association’s (AEA) Ammonia Certification System, a new global framework to verify and trade low-emission ammonia using independently audited environmental data. As part of the pilot, Envision will use the system’s Book & Claim chain-of-custody model, enabling customers worldwide to purchase the environmental attributes of certified green ammonia without requiring direct physical delivery from Envision’s production hubs.

The Book & Claim structure, already established in renewable power and sustainable aviation fuel markets, allows Envision to decouple green attributes from physical logistics, lowering costs and emissions while expanding the addressable market for its green molecules. This move builds on Envision’s recent milestones, including commissioning in July 2025 what it describes as the world’s largest AI-optimized green hydrogen and ammonia facility with 320,000 tons of annual capacity, and completing in March 2026 the first end-to-end commercial export of green ammonia from its Net Zero Industrial Park in Chifeng, China, to the Port of Ulsan in South Korea, validating the full power-to-X and maritime logistics chain.

By integrating certification, traceability, and a digital registry operated by MiQ through the AEA system, Envision aims to make its green ammonia more “bankable” for industrial buyers and financiers seeking verifiable decarbonization, particularly across Asia-Pacific markets targeted by the AEA. Senior Vice President Frank Yu said the certification and Book & Claim framework will let customers decarbonize operations regardless of geography, while AEA leadership highlighted Envision as one of the first participants helping test robust chain-of-custody models for emerging low-emission ammonia trade. Yu is scheduled to present Envision’s projects and its role in the pilot at the World Hydrogen 2026 Summit in Rotterdam on May 19, signaling that the company plans to use this platform to court international partners, offtakers, and investors as the certified clean ammonia market scales.
