Emobi has closed a $3.4 million seed round to accelerate commercialization of its JustPlug platform, a cloud-based Plug & Charge solution designed to work across both legacy and modern EV charging infrastructure. Led by Florida Funders with participation from existing backers, the funding will be used to expand Emobi’s technical infrastructure, deepen integrations across its network of more than 140,000 charging ports, and support rapid deployment of JustPlug through new and existing partnerships with automakers, fleets, charging operators, and infrastructure providers. Emobi is already running pilot programs with three of the top 10 EV automakers in North America to validate JustPlug at scale and prepare for broad commercial rollouts that enable secure, automated charging without apps, RFID cards, or new on-vehicle hardware. By leveraging ISO 15118 digital certificate infrastructure in the cloud and AI-based charger-vehicle identification, Emobi aims to extend Plug & Charge functionality to the roughly 80% of vehicles and chargers that lack native support, positioning its platform as an enabling layer for seamless EV charging across fragmented networks.
The new capital follows a series of commercial milestones that demonstrate JustPlug’s applicability across public, fleet, and customer-managed environments, including collaborations with partners to enable roaming and Plug & Charge–ready infrastructure, grid-independent ultra-fast depots, and nationwide fleet access. Emobi’s strategy centers on building an ecosystem of software and mobility partners in North America to drive utilization and interoperability, while reinforcing its role as a neutral infrastructure enabler for app providers, fleets, and automakers. Management frames the raise as a step toward making seamless, secure charging a standard driver experience rather than a premium feature, with investors citing Emobi’s technology, execution, and market timing as key to its potential leadership in EV infrastructure. For executives across automotive, fleet, and energy sectors, Emobi’s progress signals a scalable path to decouple user experience from hardware constraints and to accelerate EV adoption without waiting for wholesale network or vehicle upgrades.
