ElevenLabs has launched The Eleven Album and formally unveiled Eleven Music, its generative music model, positioning the company as a key AI infrastructure provider to the global music industry. The project assembles a roster of GRAMMY-winning and high-streaming artists to co-create original, studio-quality tracks using Eleven Music, with each artist retaining full authorship and commercial rights and distributing through their own channels, meaning streaming economics flow primarily to artists rather than ElevenLabs. Strategically, the initiative showcases a creator-first, consent-based framework that aligns AI innovation with rights protection, reinforcing the company’s broader positioning as a rights-respecting partner at a time when music and AI tensions are high. CEO Mati Staniszewski frames the album as a milestone in human–AI co-creation, designed to prove that AI can extend, rather than replace, human artistry.
In parallel, ElevenLabs is expanding its Iconic Marketplace into music, offering a curated, rights-secure licensing platform where artists and rights holders can approve AI-powered uses of their voices, likenesses, and musical identities for brands, studios, gaming, and entertainment, creating new recurring, AI-driven revenue streams. All deals are cleared directly with artists or rights holders, reinforcing transparency, consent, and control, and extending ElevenLabs’ Hollywood-oriented, permission-based model to the music vertical. These moves build on previously announced agreements with Kobalt and Merlin, which enable their represented artists and songwriters to participate in model development and revenue sharing from AI-generated music, pointing toward an emerging industry template for responsible AI–music collaboration. For ElevenLabs, this combination of flagship content (The Eleven Album), a monetization layer (Iconic Marketplace), and ecosystem deals (Kobalt and Merlin) strengthens its defensibility, supports enterprise and creator adoption, and opens incremental enterprise, brand, and licensing revenue opportunities in a high-growth AI audio category.
