Einride has secured National Highway Traffic Safety Administration approval to operate its cab-less, SAE Level 4 autonomous electric truck on public roads in Austin, Texas, marking its fifth such authorization in the U.S. and reinforcing Texas as a future hub for its American autonomous freight network. The Austin approval, following similar clearances in Arizona, Colorado, South Carolina, and Tennessee, directly supports Einride’s strategy to scale commercial operations with its Freight-Capacity-as-a-Service model, which bundles autonomous and electric trucks, AI routing software, and charging infrastructure into a single offering.
The company showcased the technology in Austin on March 19 in a live demonstration for analysts, investors, and media, timed with its Analyst & Investor Day tied to the proposed business combination with Legato Merger Corp. III that would list Einride on the NYSE in the first half of 2026. Backed by an oversubscribed $113 million capital raise related to this SPAC transaction, Einride reports over 30 enterprise customers across seven countries, approximately $92 million in expected annual recurring revenue from signed contracts, and more than $800 million in potential long-term ARR under joint business plans, positioning the company as a scaled player in electric and autonomous freight with operations in North America, Europe, and the Middle East and a safety framework aligned with international standards.
