EarthOptics has opened a 14,500-square-foot combined lab, office, and warehouse facility in the Raleigh-Durham area, marking a major scale-up of its soil analytics operations and complementing its existing state-of-the-art lab in Emeryville, Calif. Strategically located near Research Triangle Park and Raleigh-Durham International Airport, the site is designed to increase throughput and precision in measuring soil fertility, biology, physical characteristics, and carbon—capabilities that underpin the company’s role in carbon markets and data-driven agriculture.

A key strategic move is colocating EarthOptics’ analytics lab with its Sensor and Automation team, recently rebranded to emphasize automation and robotics, enabling faster development of robotic workflows and higher-volume processing without sacrificing accuracy. The facility will also become the primary home of the EarthOptics Soil Library, a growing archive of North American soil samples, supported by an upgraded cataloging system to improve scalability and accessibility for research and model calibration, which management positions as a core asset for future growth in soil intelligence and carbon measurement services.
