Doppel Taps Former UK Cybersecurity Chief Ciaran Martin to Drive EMEA Expansion and AI Threat Strategy

New updates have been reported about Doppel.

Meet Samuel – Your Personal Investing Prophet

Doppel has appointed Ciaran Martin, founder and former CEO of the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre, as a strategic advisor to sharpen its global strategy and deepen its reach into UK, EU, and Five Eyes government and enterprise markets. The move positions Doppel’s AI-native Social Engineering Defense platform more squarely within national-level cyber defense conversations at a time when AI is rapidly increasing the volume, quality, and sophistication of phishing, impersonation, and broader social engineering attacks. Martin brings over two decades of UK government experience under five prime ministers, senior roles in HM Treasury, the Cabinet Office, and GCHQ, and ongoing leadership positions in academia and cybersecurity, which Doppel aims to leverage to align its offerings with top-tier government, regulatory, and critical-infrastructure requirements.

For Doppel, Martin’s appointment complements a broader expansion strategy that includes hiring Steve Murphy, former SVP for EMEA at Tanium, as VP of Sales, EMEA, and scaling operations with a new San Francisco office and more than 60 open roles across San Francisco, New York, London, and other hubs. Executives are positioning Doppel’s platform as core cyber infrastructure rather than a training adjunct, emphasizing its ability to integrate threat intelligence, automated takedowns, and readiness exercises into a unified system that protects executives, brands, and organizations from financial and reputational loss. Company leadership frames social engineering as a board-level, systemic risk, arguing that AI-driven attack tools are outpacing traditional email-focused security controls and awareness programs. As Doppel accelerates hiring and go-to-market investment, it is targeting regulated and high-value sectors that require robust digital risk protection, multi-channel threat detection, and human risk management, with Martin expected to shape policy alignment, trust-building with national cyber authorities, and strategic engagement with large enterprises and governments.
