Dispatch Energy LLC has strategically expanded its footprint in the distributed energy market by acquiring Green Lantern Solar, a move that significantly enhances its portfolio. This acquisition includes over 64 solar and battery storage projects, totaling 208.9 MWdc, which will increase Dispatch’s total capacity to 489.5 MW. This expansion aligns with the growing demand for reliable and decarbonized energy solutions in the U.S., where solar generation has seen an eightfold increase over the past decade. The acquisition covers Green Lantern’s entire operations, including both operational and early-stage development assets, as well as their Operations and Maintenance services.
Dispatch Energy’s CEO, Richard Dovere, emphasized the company’s commitment to the energy transition and expressed enthusiasm for integrating Green Lantern’s team and assets. This acquisition not only strengthens Dispatch’s presence in states like Georgia, Maryland, and New York but also positions the company as a key player in the national aggregation of distributed generation resources. Founded in 2024, Dispatch Energy has already raised over $360 million to capitalize on opportunities in distributed generation, leveraging its extensive experience in managing energy and transportation investments. The acquisition is expected to provide significant benefits to Green Lantern’s shareholders and employees, as noted by Green Lantern’s CEO, Luke Shullenberger. This strategic move underscores Dispatch Energy’s mission to scale the commercial energy transition by deploying next-generation distributed infrastructure.
