Dessn has secured $6 million in new funding to advance its AI-driven design platform, which lets product teams design directly against live codebases running in the cloud. The round was led by Connect Ventures with participation from Betaworks and N49P, and will support the company’s push to make design a primary differentiator in a world where its founders believe code is becoming commoditized.

Unlike traditional design tools that operate on static mocks, Dessn abstracts away local dependencies so that existing repositories can run in a production-like environment without developer setup, enabling designers to iterate safely on real products and streamline handoff to engineering. Early customers include teams at Color, Wispr, and Mercury, and the company is positioning its low-switching-cost model—one free compiled repo, five prompts per week, and paid plans starting at $39 per user per month—as a way for enterprises to test Dessn alongside incumbents while preserving perfect design fidelity with their code.
