Definity has launched an agentic data engineering platform designed to run inside enterprise lakehouse and Spark pipelines, while simultaneously announcing an oversubscribed $12 million Series A financing led by GreatPoint Ventures with participation from Dynatrace and existing backers. The new capital, which lifts Definity’s total funding to $16.5 million, will fund product development of its agent-based runtime capabilities, broaden ecosystem integrations, and scale go-to-market as revenue has tripled in the past six months.
The platform embeds “in-motion” runtime intelligence directly into production jobs across Databricks, AWS EMR, GCP Dataproc, and Spark on Kubernetes, enabling AI agents to autonomously monitor, optimize, and control pipeline execution rather than just observe it after the fact. Definity reports that large enterprises, including several Fortune 500 customers, are using the system to cut platform costs by more than 30 percent through job-level optimization, reduce incidents by intervening while pipelines are running, and resolve complex Spark failures up to 10 times faster, positioning the company as core infrastructure for operating AI- and analytics-driven data platforms at scale.
