DayOne Data Centers Secures Over US$2 Billion in Series C Funding at Doubled Valuation

DayOne Data Centers has shared an update. The company announced it has entered into definitive agreements for over US$2.0 billion in Series C equity financing, described as one of the largest private capital raises in the data center sector. The round is led by existing global investor Coatue, with participation from institutions including the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA). The Series C valuation represents a 100% premium to the prior equity round. This capital raise follows an aggregate US$1.9 billion raised across Series A and Series B equity rounds in 2024, and an up to €1 billion mezzanine debt facility secured in 2025 from Brookfield and a sovereign investor.

For investors, the size and pricing of the Series C financing signal strong capital markets confidence in DayOne’s growth prospects and execution capabilities. The transaction materially strengthens the company’s equity base and provides substantial funding capacity to accelerate data center development and expansion across international markets. The participation of prominent institutional investors, including a sovereign wealth entity via INA, suggests growing strategic interest in digital infrastructure assets in Asia and other emerging regions.

The 100% valuation step-up from the prior round implies rapid perceived value creation, potentially positioning DayOne as a more significant player in the global data center landscape and increasing its optionality for future strategic exits, including IPO or large-scale M&A. However, continued value realization will depend on the company’s ability to deploy this capital efficiently, bring new capacity online on schedule and on budget, and secure long-term customer contracts in an increasingly competitive market. Overall, the financing enhances DayOne’s balance sheet strength, supports its expansion strategy, and could improve its competitive position within the broader digital infrastructure and hyperscale data center ecosystem.
