Datatruck has deepened its AI-native transportation management system by integrating MapUp’s TollGuru route-cost engine directly into the Datatruck dispatch workflow, giving carriers real-time toll, fuel, and net profit comparisons before a load is assigned. When a dispatcher builds a load from a rate confirmation in Datatruck, the system now surfaces up to three route options with a full financial breakdown so the dispatcher can select the most profitable lane without leaving the TMS.

Executives at Datatruck position the move as a margin-management tool, noting that tolls and fuel remain two of the largest controllable cost lines for trucking fleets and that carriers historically lacked automated visibility into route-level exposure at the moment of dispatch. Early deployments indicate that choosing the lowest-cost option can deliver up to $4,000 in weekly toll and fuel savings on active lanes, implying a meaningful compounding impact for fleets running multiple daily loads. The integration expands the Datatruck marketplace to more than 150 connected services, with TollGuru available as a subscription add-on that operates alongside Datatruck’s broader AI suite, including TruckGPT for document automation, AI Dispatcher for load matching, and AI Updater for broker and driver communications.

By embedding commercial-vehicle-specific routing that accounts for vehicle class, axle count, and fuel consumption, Datatruck aims to position its platform as a central decision hub for fleet economics rather than a pure workflow system. MapUp reports that its technology can drive 5 to 15 percent toll savings and 2 to 3 percent fuel savings, plus sizable reductions in administrative time, suggesting potential operating-margin benefits for Datatruck customers that adopt the new module at scale. For Datatruck, the partnership reinforces a strategy of layering high-value AI and data services inside its TMS, which could increase platform stickiness, support higher subscription tiers, and enhance its competitive differentiation with carriers and freight brokers that prioritize cost control in a volatile freight market.

The new capability is available immediately through the Datatruck marketplace, with activation designed to be handled within the existing TMS environment so that carriers do not need to switch tools to evaluate route economics. While financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed, the integration underscores Datatruck’s push to monetize its ecosystem through specialized add-ons and reinforces its positioning as an AI-first infrastructure provider for the trucking sector. Stakeholders should watch adoption rates of the TollGuru integration, realized savings across fleets, and the impact on Datatruck’s marketplace attach rates as leading indicators of the strategic and financial payoff from this expansion.
