Cornerstone Robotics has secured CE mark certification under the EU Medical Device Regulation for its Sentire endoscopic surgical system, opening the door to commercial deployment across European markets in general surgery, gynecology, thoracic procedures, and urology. The approval confirms that Sentire meets European safety, performance, and quality standards and positions the Hong Kong–based company to scale its surgical robotics platform beyond existing approvals in China and Singapore.
To underpin its European entry, Cornerstone Robotics has built an early clinical and service footprint in the U.K., including a formal subsidiary established in 2025 and a clinical investigation with Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust that has already delivered multiple complex procedures and favorable clinician feedback. The company is leveraging its vertically integrated, in‑house R&D and 30,000‑square‑meter manufacturing base in China, alongside a US$200 million oversubscribed financing round completed in late 2025, to support training, technical services, and broader global rollout. CEO Professor Samuel Au said the CE mark marks a shift from pure technology development to global clinical solutions, and the company plans further expansion with leading medical institutions to drive adoption of its surgical robotics platform worldwide.
