Corgi has secured $108 million in combined seed and Series A funding and obtained full regulatory approval to operate as a licensed, AI-native, full-stack insurance carrier focused on startups, positioning the company as a technology-driven alternative to traditional business insurers. Backed by investors including Y Combinator, Kindred Ventures, Contrary, SV Angel, and others, Corgi will use the capital to scale its startup-focused insurance portfolio, expand coverage types and distribution, and deepen investment in AI systems that automate underwriting, claims handling, and policy administration. The company’s model replaces broker-heavy, manual, annual-cycle workflows with modern infrastructure designed to deliver instant quotes, dynamic coverage that adjusts as companies grow, and pricing aimed at high-growth, venture-backed customers. Since receiving full regulatory approval in July 2025, Corgi has grown annual recurring revenue to more than $40 million, signaling strong product-market fit among technology and other fast-scaling businesses seeking speed, flexibility, and operational efficiency in risk management.

As a full-stack carrier, Corgi designs, prices, and manages insurance policies end-to-end, enabling tailored protection for startups across core commercial lines. Its offerings include directors and officers (D&O), errors and omissions (E&O), cyber insurance, commercial general liability, hired and non-owned auto, fiduciary liability, AI liability, and related coverages calibrated for modern operating risks and governance requirements. CEO and co-founder Nico Laqua said the company aims to remove the traditional trade-off between speed, coverage quality, and price for founders, allowing them to secure comprehensive coverage quickly while focusing on scaling their businesses. Investors describe Corgi’s approach—integrating actuarial science with AI-driven systems and rethinking policy management from the ground up—as a bid to tackle one of financial services’ hardest infrastructure problems. With regulatory approval in place, a significant capital base, and accelerating ARR, Corgi is positioned to expand its footprint among venture-backed and high-growth enterprises and could emerge as a reference platform for AI-powered commercial insurance infrastructure in the startup ecosystem.
