ControlUp has passed $100 million in annual recurring revenue and strengthened its board advisory bench with the addition of marketing strategist Tim Freestone, signaling a scaled push into Autonomous Endpoint Management (AEM) as its next growth engine. The company is repositioning from its roots in Digital Employee Experience toward AI-driven, self-managing digital workspaces designed to cut tools, tickets, and manual IT intervention.
CEO Jed Ayres said Freestone will help refine ControlUp’s go-to-market strategy and accelerate growth as the company leads the shift from reactive IT management to autonomous operations. Freestone, currently Chief Strategy Officer at Kiteworks and a veteran of senior roles at Contrast Security, Fortinet, and NetApp, brings deep experience using AI to optimize GTM for enterprise SaaS, which is expected to support ControlUp’s market leadership ambitions in AEM and its next phase of scaling.
