ControlUp Launches DaaS IQ to Cut Azure Virtual Desktop Costs and Complexity

ControlUp has introduced DaaS IQ, a dedicated management platform aimed at lowering costs and simplifying operations for enterprises running Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop at scale. By positioning DaaS IQ as a single intelligent control plane across the entire DaaS estate, the company is targeting a core pain point for CIOs and CFOs: fragmented tooling, manual autoscaling policies, and over-provisioned, always-on capacity that inflate cloud spend while still risking performance gaps for end users.

Built on ControlUp’s broader digital employee experience platform, DaaS IQ combines real-time monitoring, anomaly detection, synthetic testing, remote management, automation, and an AI assistant to manage the full AVD stack without continuous human oversight. The product introduces policy-based lifecycle and capacity management, intelligent autoscaling, and granular cost visibility so IT and FinOps teams can align compute resources with real demand, standardize configurations, and eliminate cloud waste.

For large enterprises and managed service providers, the platform’s multi-tenant support and centralized view are designed to reduce administrative overhead, cut configuration errors, and enable consistent service levels across customers from a single interface. ControlUp’s chief product officer, Gadi Feldman, characterized the strategy as moving beyond simply providing better controls for AVD toward effectively removing most of the day-to-day management burden via automation and self-healing capabilities.

Strategically, DaaS IQ deepens ControlUp’s role in the DaaS ecosystem and supports its push toward more autonomous endpoint and workspace operations as organizations expand remote and hybrid work models.
