Chef Robotics has introduced an AI-driven baked goods tray assembly application that runs on its existing robotics platform, positioning the company to capture more automation spend in high-mix bakery production. The system handles diverse items such as burger buns, cookies, biscotti, granola bars, and rusks, using computer vision and physical AI models to determine grip, orientation, and placement in real time while maintaining presentation quality.
Built on Chef’s piece-picking capability and delivered under its robotics-as-a-service model, the new application offers food manufacturers higher throughput, reduced reliance on manual labor, and consistent packing quality across shifts without modifying current production lines. The solution supports angle-corrected placement, multi-item tray loading in a single pass, precise placement into multi-compartment containers, and center-referenced tray layouts, and is now commercially available in the U.S., Canada, Germany, and the U.K., expanding Chef Robotics’ addressable market and revenue potential in the industrial bakery segment.
