Censys Formalizes ARC Team to Deepen Internet Threat Intelligence and Product Capabilities

New updates have been reported about Censys.

Censys has formally launched the Censys Advanced Research Collective (ARC), establishing a dedicated internal team to convert its global Internet telemetry into actionable threat intelligence that feeds directly into its platform and product roadmap. ARC unifies elite researchers, threat analysts, and engineers to track adversary infrastructure, high-risk exposures, and systemic Internet risks, positioning Censys to deliver more timely and differentiated data to enterprise and government customers.

ARC’s work has already underpinned several high-impact initiatives, including collaboration with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to secure over 96% of more than 400 exposed HMIs at water facilities, mapping nation-state-linked malware campaigns, and identifying thousands of exposed large language model instances and devices tied to geopolitical conflicts. The team also authors Censys’ annual State of the Internet Report, now a benchmark for measuring global exposure risk, and produces rapid-response analysis on actively exploited vulnerabilities such as React2Shell, a Fortinet FortiWeb flaw, and a critical n8n issue, which strengthens Censys’ in-product detections, risk scoring, and prioritization.

By formally integrating ARC as a core pillar of its Internet intelligence stack, Censys aims to enhance the quality and speed of insights available to customers for attack surface management, threat hunting, and incident response. Leadership, including Founder and CEO Zakir Durumeric and Senior Director of Research and Security Michael Schwartz, emphasize that this move codifies Censys’ research-driven heritage and is intended to deepen platform differentiation by embedding authoritative, real-time Internet visibility into customer workflows and partner ecosystems.
