Castelion has shared an update. The company announced the groundbreaking of Project Ranger, a 1,000-acre hypersonic manufacturing campus in New Mexico designed to support high-volume production of hypersonic strike systems. The facility will produce solid rocket motors, conduct static tests, and assemble components into finished rounds. Castelion expects the project to create approximately 300 manufacturing jobs and involve more than $220 million in private investment, with an estimated $650 million in economic impact for New Mexico over the next decade.

For investors, Project Ranger signals a major expansion of Castelion’s manufacturing capacity and long-term commitment to the hypersonic defense segment, a priority area for U.S. national security spending. The scale of the planned campus and its focus on high-cadence production suggest the company is positioning itself to compete for larger and more frequent defense contracts, potentially improving revenue visibility and operating leverage once the facility becomes fully operational. The capital intensity of the project implies near- to medium-term investment and execution risk, including cost control, regulatory compliance, and timely ramp-up of production. However, if successfully delivered, the project could enhance Castelion’s strategic importance within the defense industrial base and strengthen its bargaining position with government and prime contractor customers in a market where demand for hypersonic capabilities is expected to grow.
