Brightspeed is accelerating its Illinois fiber rollout, reporting that more than 60 percent of its planned network in the state is now built and nearly 31,000 homes and businesses can already access its fiber internet service. The company expects to reach over 51,000 locations statewide, with Savanna and North Pekin fully constructed and commercially live, positioning Brightspeed to deepen its presence in underserved and competitive broadband markets.
To drive adoption in newly served areas, Brightspeed is deploying branded field teams door to door in Knoxville, Pekin and Savanna to explain service availability, pricing options and performance benefits, an approach aimed at rapidly converting network build into revenue. The Illinois expansion is partially underpinned by a provisional award of $3.2 million in federal BEAD funding to connect another 1,200 locations, complementing Brightspeed’s private capital and reinforcing its strategy to leverage public subsidies where available to scale its multi‑state fiber footprint efficiently.
