Brex has been selected by OpenAI to manage its global spend and financial operations, positioning the finance platform more firmly at the center of the rapidly expanding AI ecosystem. By providing AI-native corporate cards and spend management capabilities, Brex will support OpenAI’s fast-scaling, globally distributed teams with real-time visibility into spending, automated controls, and streamlined payments.
The OpenAI win underscores Brex’s strategic push to become the financial backbone for leading AI companies, supported by its new agent platform that automates workflows across expenses, compliance, and accounting. Brex has also integrated with ChatGPT so customers can access expense data and policy insights via natural language, and reports that in 2025 its automation eliminated over $163 million in annual salary costs and 208,000 hours of manual work per month, with about 70% of expenses now processed end-to-end by AI.
